This Privacy Policy describes how Marble Mountain Kennels ("MMK," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit or use our website at www.mmkpuppies.ca, www.mmkennels.com, or any related pages, forms, or services (collectively, the "Site"). By using the Site, submitting a puppy preference form, or making a reservation with us, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Site.
Contact and Application Information. When you fill out a puppy preference form, reservation form, or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and information about your household, family, and experience with dogs — including any additional details you choose to share (photos, comments, or other content).
Reservation and Payment Information. When you place a deposit or make a payment, we (or our payment processor) collect billing information such as your name, billing address, and payment card or account details, along with the transaction amount and date.
Communications. If you call, text, or email us, we may keep records of that communication, including your phone number and the content of the conversation, to help us match you with a puppy and provide ongoing support.
Automatically Collected Information. Like most websites, our Site (which is built on Squarespace) automatically collects certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location. We use tools such as Google Tag Manager and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which may place cookies or similar tracking technologies on your device to help us understand Site traffic and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

We and our third-party service providers (including Squarespace, Google, and Meta) use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to:
Remember your preferences and improve your experience on the Site;
Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it; and

Provide ongoing breeder support after you take your puppy home;

Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.
We do not use your information for any purpose incompatible with these.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
Service providers: With vendors who help us operate our business, such as our payment processor, website host (Squarespace), veterinarians, USDA-licensed flight nannies, and other transportation providers, only as needed to complete the relevant service.
AKC and registries: With the American Kennel Club or similar organizations as required to register or transfer ownership of a puppy.
With your consent: When you direct us to share information — for example, with a co-applicant or your own veterinarian.
Legal reasons: If required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MMK, our customers, our animals, or the public.
Business transfers: If MMK is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a materially similar one.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.
5. Testimonials and Public Content
If you provide a testimonial, review, or photo of your puppy for us to share on the Site or social media, we will only use it with your permission, and you may ask us to remove it at any time by contacting us.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — for example, for as long as you're a prospective or existing customer, and for a reasonable period after (including for ongoing health-guarantee and breeder-support obligations, which may extend for the life of your dog). We may retain certain records longer where required by law or for legitimate recordkeeping purposes (such as AKC registration and health-testing records).
7. Your Choices and Rights
Opt-out of marketing: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails or texts at any time using the link/instructions provided in those messages, or by contacting us directly.
Access, correction, or deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing [insert contact email, e.g., hello@mmkpuppies.ca]. We will make reasonable efforts to verify your identity and respond. We may need to retain certain information where required by law or to fulfill an ongoing contract (for example, honoring a health guarantee on a puppy you've purchased).
California residents: If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, and the right to request deletion, subject to certain exceptions. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 9. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we collect, including using encryption technology (via our website host) for data transmitted through the Site. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
